Astonishing news

To our astonishment, we discovered that the just democratically elected committee-member Hug Yue left the party without any notice or justification. Hug took chair in both committees after he had put himself to the front during the meeting and got elected. Ex-comrade Hug Yue has, due to his untrustworthy behaviour towards the membership, been banned from the land of CPSL and will not be allowed to become member anymore. More info will follow concerning the committees.

Interesting, Smoke, as you know I posted my resignation notice to every member of the finance committee and stated the reasons for same, primarily being the formation of a party faction by some members shortly after someone disagreed with a minor procedurual issue during the meeting. And also because of your insistance that the CPSL was not a party, but a cultural area. As I said then, I do not want to be a part of a group that runs off and forms factions everytime a decision is made they disagree with. If CPSL was a communist party I would have stayed and dealt with the factionalization, but if we are not even a party why bother.

Really interesting indeed, you and your friends, like Rascal Ratelle, are deliberately trying to disrupt the party, Hug. Or should i call you Kwinkly?
Oh and you are a liar, you didnt sent any notice to the Fund.
Anyway be sure that we can go on without you guys. Have fun, and try to be a bit less childish dude.

*SIGH*

Hug, you didnt post any notice in any of the two groups: not in CPSL, nor in CPSL Funding Committee.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you had put yourself forward for a seat on both committees and got elected by the membership at the last membership meeting, right?
You can say what you want, but leaving them without any notice, after a couple of days, is rude, disrespectful and a clear sign you are not to be trusted.

I am still unclear why you left, what you have discovered what you maybe could not have known (which is nothing) before that meeting... Its probably because you thought you would be the supreme "leader"; but that misconception is not our fault, that is not stated anywhere.

> "I do not want to be a part of a group that runs off and forms factions everytime a decision is made they disagree with."

There are a handful members, who after that meeting, formed a faction *within* CPSL. I dont applaud that either, but I dont run off from the whole membership with the idea to create another party either; and in the meantime trying to split comrades even more.

CPSL has been growing a lot lately and is still finding a good way to incorporate that, organisational wise. The last meeting is an example of that. Yes, there are differences amongst the comrades, but that is what you get when you want to be a broad communist organisation. And in my opinion, frustration is good for creative and non-dogmatic thought. As said, you gave it a couple of days and decided to run, instead of giving constructive criticism and help build. While during our discussion about your democratic centralist view, you said you were open to other thoughts...Yeah, that has shown to be the truth...NOT.

I wish you good luck. Regards,

Smoke

Well, enough said. I did post my resignation notice with the finance committee and the reasons therefore. If it did not get posted it is because I am ignorant, not anything worse. I respect the work you are all doing and wish you luck.

Oh, and for the record, I did not stand for any office until the people I thought were best qualified refused to serve. Indeed, a reivew of the minutes will reflect that the slates I offered never included myself. Only when it looked like nobody would be chosen did I take over the meeting.
Anyway, again, you've done great stuff and keep up the good work.

A party is a group of people who share the same political ideas.

CPSL is indeed a party per that definition in my opinion. But it doesn't exist physically.

There will always be factions and different opinions within a party. The more debate, the better.

We take it that Hug is sincere in this, that he *did* send a notice, but it just did not work.
As the way he left (the way we conceived it) was the reason for the banning from the land, we will remove Hug from the ban-list.

This does not take away the fact he left us and that we would rather see people who disagree stay and help grow and strengthen CPSL by constructive criticism and acting.

We honestly regret the way this situation has grown out of proportion. We hope we can go on with new vigour to build CPSL further into a broad and vibrant organisation and meeting-place for comrades around the world.

Kind regards.
